Land Rover safari into the mountains and forests in search of views, clues, tracks and trails. Great for families with smaller children.

The safari includes a short but exciting walk into an ancient Caledonian pine forest and a search for mini beasts under rocks and stumps.

Dawn Patrol Safaris

Early mornings, just as dawn breaks is a great time to be out and about listening and watching for birds and wildlife. Experience the wonder of a rural dawn chorus in secluded glens and moors or catch a glimpse of shy roe deer emerging from the mist. So it’s up with the lark on our Dawn Patrol Land Rover safari to secluded glens and moors to see which birds and animals are out and about before the world wakes up. Who know what we may find....? Great photo opportunities and a fantastic full Scottish breakfast in our Farm Shop Café when you return.

Badger Watch Safaris

Waiting for badgers to emerge from their sett to frolic and forage amongst the bracken and bluebells is a truly magical experience. May and June are ideal times for badger watching because the cubs, born in February, are beginning to be more active. You’ll need patience and the ability to sit quietly for a couple of hours, but the rewards are just brilliant!

Head to the high tops of the mountains to see the sun set over Ben Nevis 50 miles away. You’ll hopefully see some amazing highland wildlife, then enjoy coffee, tea and shortbread in our mountain bothy. Sure to be a truly magical moment.

Go Wild At The Safari Lodge
Perthshire Junior Gold Panning Championships

After easy instructions from our resident expert, you’ll soon be panning like a ‘pro’! Scooping and swirling in our purpose built panning flume, you’ll soon be hunting for semi precious gems, fools’ gold as well as real gold. Everything you find, you will take home with you and everyone receives a special certificate whilst the winner receives a prize. Competitors will be split into two age groups: 8 and under and 9 – 14.

£4.00 entry/competitor Turn up on the day 1000hrs-1600hrs.

Dress up and step back in time as our highlanders show you how clansmen fought in days of old.

Falconry Display
Come along and watch our experienced Falconer work owls, hawks and the magnificent Golden Eagle, gliding, swooping and soaring all with the spectacular backdrop of Highland Perthshire. There is a chance to hold and feed the birds too! 1400hrs Entry Charge: £3.00/adult £2.00/child. Also Donations to Charity.

Roaring Stags Safaris

Climb aboard your safari Land Rover and head up to the high mountain corries to hear and see this primeval ritual as Red Deer Stags compete for the hinds with clashing antlers and throaty roaring. Spotlight Safaris

As night time falls, venture up into the hills by Land Rover with your kilted guide for a trip full of excitement and discovery. Armed with our powerful spotlight search for Red Deer. Roe Deer, Foxes, Owls and other creatures of the night. One of the awe-inspiring sights that will await you on a clear night is the brilliant display of a starry sky. With zero light-pollution around you, the heavens take on a whole new splendour, especially on a clear, moonless night. Using state of the art technology with our Sky Scout telescope we can name almost every star in the night sky. On more overcast nights we supply torches so that you can enjoy a torchlight walk into an ancient Caledonian pine forest.

November thru to Spring
Feed The Deer - November onwards

Monday to Saturday at 1230hrs at the Safari Lodge. Our trained Ranger will feed the deer to bring them close up to you and give you a short but exciting insight on their behaviour, habitats, likes and dislikes. These magnificent animals really are Monarchs of the Glen.

December thru to March
Alpine Safaris

Climb aboard your safari Land Rover with your kilted guide for a wonderful winter white Alpine Safari. Armed with hats, hand warmers, binoculars and telescopes escape to the high tops to search for Snow Buntings, the Snowy White Ptarmigan, Elusive White Mountain Hare and Majestic Red Deer. Learn from experienced rangers how these animals and birds survive in this wonderful sub-arctic environment and marvel at the scenery in a land steeped in history. Then arrive at a heated mountain bothy set at 2,600 feet with breathtaking views of Schiehallion, Loch Tummel and snow capped Ben Nevis over 50 miles away. Here enjoy tea, coffee, locally baked shortbread and a dram of Dewar’s whisky to keep out the cold!
